Meet Libby
When Libby and her family moved from the Dallas area to Corpus Christi three years ago, one of the first things she did was start looking for ways to become involved in the Coastal Bend. She knew that the quickest way to feel at home was by serving and learning more about the people and places within her new community! Originally from St. Louis, MO, Libby has been an active volunteer for most of her life and firmly believes in Charles Dickens’ words “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”
Libby holds a BA in Elementary Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and an MA in Education Administration from Lamar University. Her career in North Texas schools spanned twenty years, where she worked as a classroom teacher, campus intervention and testing coordinator, and assistant principal. Libby started a business in the skincare industry before leaving the school setting and currently enjoys the challenge, freedom and flexibility of working for herself.
100 Women was first introduced to Libby in North Texas, when she had the opportunity to participate in the 100 Women of Allen. “Each event was inspiring in so many ways - meeting other women with a passion for giving, learning about the hard working charitable organizations in our area, and feeling the excitement as the night’s grant money was awarded! I am grateful to have the opportunity to help bring this concept to life in the Coastal Bend and look forward to the impact that we will make together!”
Libby enjoys spending time with her husband and two young adult children, traveling, reading and especially loves a day on the boat soaking up the beautiful views of the Coastal Bend!
